Something Magical

There’s something refreshing and challenging about removing ourselves from our everyday environment and tossing ourselves into a new one. At Bridges we have the opportunity to do that very thing at the beginning of each summer when we take our middle and high school students to two AMAZING summer camps. Every June we take anywhere from 35-60 middle and high school students to spend a week at Kids Across America Kamps and SpringHill Camps. From ziplines to blobs to huge water slides and high ropes courses, these camps and their environments are far removed from our everyday lives and environments.

But…

As great as these activities are and as much fun as our kids have on them, they aren’t what make our camp experiences so magical and unforgettable. What makes these experiences so magical is the same thing that makes nearly all of lifes magical moments so memorable and great; it’s the people that we’re experiencing these moments with, the memories that we make in those moments and how God has a way of showing up in them and using them to draw us towards Him.

At these camps our students have a chance, in a different and safe environment, to overcome fears, try new things, stretch themselves, be kids and, most importantly, experience God in a real, significant and different way. They’re loved on and encouraged. They’re surrounded and led by young, college-aged, counselors and staff that are passionate about living for Christ and pouring into the lives of our students.

This year at camp we had multiple kids give their lives to Christ for the first time and dozens of others who recommitted themselves to walking with Christ and His desire for their lives. We hope you’ll pray with us as we walk with all of these students as they journey down that path.

So many of you support Bridges in a variety of ways and we want to genuinely thank you for helping us provide our amazing students with these life-changing experiences. We appreciate the support more than you’ll ever know and appreciate the continued prayer for our students and team!
